The Google Lime Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative that was created in partnership between Google and Lime Connect.The program is aimed at supporting and encouraging students with disabilities to pursue careers in computer science and related fields.
Lime Connect is a non-profit organization that supports and connects people with disabilities. Each year, the program awards scholarships to students with disabilities who are currently studying in universities in the United States or Canada.
Recipients of the scholarship receive financial support to help cover their tuition, as well as a paid summer internship at Google. Additionally, recipients are connected with a Google mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the program.
To be eligible for the Google Lime Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in a university in the United States or Canada, be pursuing a degree in computer science or a related field, and have a visible or invisible disability. They must be able to demonstrate leadership and a strong academic record. Applications are typically due in the fall, and recipients are announced in the following spring.
Who can apply?
To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
- Have, or consider themselves to have, a visible or invisible disability
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelors program at an accredited university or college for the 2022-2023 academic year
- Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors program at an accredited university in the United States or Canada for the 2023-2024 academic year
- Demonstrate a strong academic record
- Be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field
- Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for computer science and technology
Application process
You will be asked to complete an online application through Lime Connect which includes:
- General background information
- Resume/CV
- Academic transcripts from your current and prior institutions
- One letter of reference
- Three short answer essay questions
